Chunyu Liu, PhD (Co-Founder)
Dr. Liu is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Professor of Neuroscience and Physiology at the SUNY Upstate Medical University (since Dec 2017), while concurrently holding an Associate Professor position at the University of Illinois at Chicago (since May 2011). Prior to joining the University of Illinois, Dr. Liu has spent more than 12 years at the University of Chicago (Nov 1998-Apr 2011) with roles varying from Postdoc to Assistant Professor. He has a long-term interest in understanding molecular basis of psychiatric diseases. His lab is one of the leading research groups on genome-wide study of postmortem brain gene expression and DNA methylation, pioneering in study of gene expression regulatory network in human brain. His research has been supported by NIMH, NARSAD, and Brain Research Foundation. Dr. Liu has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in reputed international journals such as Science, Nature Neuroscience, Science Translational Medicine and Molecular Psychiatry, which have been cited for more than 7,000 times in total. Hawk Yan (Co-Founder)
Dr. Yan holds a DBA degree from the Central South University and serves as a Professor of Jishou University, China. He is a co-founder of Hapres and helped found the Hapres China Branch in 2018. He is the author of two books and has published in top journals such as Bioinformatics. Previously, he has successfully set up a technology and publishing service company in China. He frequently speaks at conferences and workshops. He is also a committee member of the Academic Publishing Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. Jinsong Tang, PhD (Vice President, Academic Affairs)
Dr. Tang is a professor at Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Previously he was an associate professor at the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, China (2008-2019), a visiting scholar at the Behavioral and Clinical Neuroscience Institute, University of Cambridge (2010), the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) & The Lieber Institute for Brain Development (LIBD) (2014-2015) and the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA (since 2015). His main research area is to investigate the underlying mechanisms of psychotic disorders (schizophrenia and addiction). He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in journals including Molecular Psychiatry and Neuroscience. He also serves as editorial board members and reviewers for many scientific journals.
